Scruff and gay apps like it

In general, I have written off apps like Scruff that dress themselves up as dating apps, yet seem to be all about hooking up. Since I came out at 19, I have always known that I was the kind guy who wasn’t looking to just hookup rather than invest my time into someone that I’m interested in.

Having recently given up on meeting anyone of substance from one of these apps, I was convinced by my best friend to restart Scruff to make connections with men from around the world and hone my socializing skills. To my surprise, I have been greeted by a parade of smart and sexy men with great heads on their shoulders wanting to have actual conversations.

Could it be a fluke? Possibly.
Have I met men like them in the past that have been just playing a role to get what they want? Absolutely.

I’ve decided to not give up though. There are more great ones out there like me. If they were easy to find, then they probably wouldn’t be worth finding. In the meantime, I’m going to try and enjoy the discovery and enjoy what the journey brings my way.
